Nutcracker Audition

How Will the Dancer Audition?

Submit a video audition because the dancer cannot attend in person

Video Auditions

Video submissions will be accepted for consideration to participate in this year’s production. Detailed video requirements and submission instructions will be emailed one week before auditions.

Audition Times
Audition Times By Age: Please Choose A Audition Time
12:30–1:00 PM: Ballet C–D* Ages 15+, only pointe dancers
1:00–3:00 PM: Ballet A–D Ages 13+, pointe and non-pointe dancers
3:00–3:30 PM: Ballet I–III Ages 6–8
3:45–5:00 PM: Ballet IV–VI Ages 9–12

*Ballet C-D dancers will need to stay until 3pm

Audition Attire Requirements


LDA dancers must arrive in a plain leotard appropriate to their current level. Leotards may not have designs, lace, or other embellishments.


Non-LDA dancers of all ages must arrive in a plain black leotard.


All dancers must wear tights and ballet flats, with pointe shoes for those auditioning on pointe. Hair must be styled in a clean, slick ballet bun. No jewelry may be worn.

Assumption of Risk, Liability Waiver & Release

DANCER’S PARENT(S)/GUARDIAN(S) ACKNOWLEDGE(S) the inherent physical risks involved in participation in the Audition for The Nutcracker. Dancer’s participation is acknowledged by the parent(s), guardian(s), family members, and/or parent’s designees, as a voluntary undertaking. In consideration for the privilege of participation, the parent/guardian assumes full responsibility for any and all damages, injuries, or losses that may be sustained or incurred, if any, to the persons listed above, while rehearsing, attending, participating, observing, or in any other activity associated with, but not limited to, The Nutcracker. The parent/guardian also agrees of his/her own free will to waive, release, and covenant not to sue, and agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Logrea Dance Academy, its directors, officers, employees, volunteers, and contractors for any and all claims resulting from ordinary negligence and inherent risk of the production, including but not limited to any loss, injury, death, including with respect to COVID-19, damage, or liability sustained while on or about the premises or any location where the dancers of the production perform, rehearse, visit, or engage in activity.
