Jean Logrea

LDA Co- Founder * LDA Artistic Director

Jean Logrea, originally from Austria, was a principal dancer with the Graz Opera House ballet for seven years. He trained at Scoala Speciala in Cluj, Romania, and served as a principal and teacher at the Opera House Cluj for nine years, mentoring talented students who now dance internationally. As a principal dancer, he toured Europe and the USSR in major roles, including Mercutio in Romeo and Juliet and the Jester in Swan Lake. He co-directs the Academy and has been a judge at the World Ballet Competition in Orlando, FL, since its inception in 2007.

Nick Logrea

LDA Director * LDA Instructor

Nick trained at the Logrea Dance Academy and has performed in WBC’s Nutcracker for 27 years, as as in various WBC productions. He is a Zumba® Education Specialist, training new instructors and teaching Master Classes across the US and internationally. Logrea has danced with Zumba creator Beto Perez and appeared on ABC's The View and The Show, and was featured in two Zumba Fitness video games.

Andrea Redman

LDA Instructor

Andrea Redman has 28 years of dance teaching experience, specializing in ballet and pointe. She directed her own school in Michigan and has been the Children’s Rehearsal Director for the Moscow Ballet’s “Great Russian Nutcracker” for 15 years. Ms. Redman holds a B.A. in Dance from Oakland University and currently teaches at Hispanico School and Lucy Moses School in NYC. She has judged for Nexstar Talent Competition for 13 years, and her students have achieved success Broadway and with prestigious ballet companies.

Tomiko Magario

LDA Instructor

Tomiko Magario is a dancer, teacher, and choreographer, and the founder of The New Rising Sun Dance Project. With extensive experience in various dance styles, she has performed with the New York Philharmonic and held principal roles in several ballet companies. An ABT® Certified Teacher, she has taught for 20 years at Steps on Broadway and through outreach programs. Currently, she is innovative projects, including “An Imperial Message,” and has a strong educational background from Japan and the U.S. More information can be found at www.tomikomagario.com.

Amanda Edge

Guest Instructor

Amanda, a Texas native, trained with Ballet Austin and continued her studies in Brazil and North Carolina. She attended the Hungarian National Ballet School before moving to New York to study at The School of American Ballet. After joining the New York City Ballet, she performed principal roles and created new works for 15 years. Later, she was an original cast member in Phantom: The Las Vegas Spectacular and worked on Broadway. Amanda graduated summa cum laude from Fordham University and has since taught at New York City Ballet and Cathedral High School, while also choreographing and guest teaching nationally.

David Fernandez

Guest Instructor

David Fernandez is an award-winning choreographer and dance filmmaker from NYC, known for his viral choreography "ruvian Man," whichuses classical and contemporary styles. His acclaimed works include "Five Variations on a Theme" for Joaquin De Luz. Passionate about teaching, he has collaborated with Ghetto Classics in Kenya and Shanti Bhavan in India. Recently, he became the Ballet Master and Resident Choreographer of Ghetto Classics in Nairobi.

Beth Fritz-Logrea

LDA Co- Founder * LDA Artistic Director

Beth Fritz-Logrea, protege of Dame Alicia Markova, began her in Memphis with Charles Kirby and Manola Agullo before receiving a scholarship to the Metropolitan Opera. She joined the ballet company at sixteen and trained under Vincenzo Celli in New York. As a principal dancer, she has performed Ballet Etudes, St. Gallen Stadt Theatre, and Graz Opera House, touring Europe in leading roles in classics like Giselle and Swan Lake., she has appeared in productions such as Man of La Mancha and West Side Story, and she is co-director the Academy.

Rebecca Tschan

LDA Instructor 

Rebecca Tschan started ballet at Logrea Dance Academy, then trained at Ballet Academy in NYC with Darla Hoover and Fabrice Herrault. graduated Summa Cum Laude from Butler University with a BFA in Dance Performance and a Psychology minor, performing roles like Giselle and Snow Queen. She later joined Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre's Graduate Program on scholarship, taking principal roles in “The Nutcracker” “Swan Lake.” Rebecca has also attended esteemed summer programs, earning scholarships, and is certified in the ABT National Training Curriculum.

Josh McWhorter

LDA Instructor

Josh McWhortor has over 12 years of proffessional experience in Musical Theatre, most recently having worked with the legendary Randy Skinner on shows such as 42nd Street and White Christmas. As a teacher, he has experience teaching tap, jazz, and theatre dance and is on faculty at Steps on Broadway and Broadway Dance Center. Josh is also a 500 hour Yoga Alliance certified yoga teacher.

Noah Wang

Noah is a movement artist and educator from San Francisco, trained at the San Francisco Ballet School and Ruth Asawa School of the Arts. He graduated with a BFA in dance from The Juilliard School in 2020, performing works by renowned choreographers. Post-graduation, he has collaborated with several prestigious companies, including Alonzo King LINES Ballet and The Metropolitan Opera. He was part of the final cast of Sleep No More at The McKittrick Hotel. Noah is also a certified trainer in GYROTONIC™️ and GYROKINESIS™️ Methods and has recently worked with LA Dance Project under Benjamin Millepied.

Elizabeth Shevelchinsky

Guest Instructor

Elizabeth Shevelchinsky is a professional dancer and specializing in Russian folk dance. She trained for four years at the Moscow State Institute of Culture, focusing on traditional dance techniques. Elizabeth has performed with various Eastern European and Caucasian ensembles and recently toured the U.S. with Riverdance. As a dedicated instructor, she teaches Russian folk dance in the Tri-State area, inspiring dancers while preserving the art form's authenticity.

Lauren Grant

Guest Instructor

Lauren Grant, a New York Dance and Performance "Bessie" Award winner, performed with the Mark Morris Dance Group from 1996 to 2020 in nearly 80 works. She has staged Morris' dances worldwide and was a founding faculty member at The School at the Mark Morris Dance Center. Lauren holds an MFA from Montclair State University and a BFA from NYU Tisch. She is also an accomplished dance writer and currently supports the Mark Morris Dance Group through development work.

Evelyn Vaughn

Guest Instructor

Evie Vaughan (she/her) is a Bay Area performing and teaching artist with a BFA in Commercial Dance from Pace University. Her performance credits include the national tour of, A Christmas Story, The Producers, and West Side Story, as well as dancing for Aida Cruises in Germany. Currently, she performs with Cole Jazz and Accent Dance NYC. As a dedicated dance teacher, she created the JTICH Jazz Dance Syllabus focusing on biomechanics in character heels and is certified in personal training (NASM) and coaching at Orange Theory Fitness. Evy aims to earn a doctorate in physical therapy and is represented by Suite Talent Agency.

David Leventhal

Guest Instructor

David Leventhal, from Newton, Mass., trained at Boston Ballet School and RAD in London. He graduated magna cum laude from Brown University with a BA in English Literature and danced with the Mark Morris Dance Group (MMDG) from 1997 to 2011, performing in over 40 works and receiving a 2010 "Bessie" Award. He also worked in opera and appeared on PBS and CBS. Prior to MMDG,he danced with José Mateo’s Ballet Theatre and others. With over 30 yearsof teaching experience, he teaches at the Mark Morris Dance Center and Steffi Nossen School of Dance, and directs the Dance for PD program for people with Parkinson's.
